Nestled in the vibrant heart of New York’s West Village, The Little Taco House offers an authentic slice of taco heaven that’s both approachable and bursting with flavor. Specializing in classic Mexican street eats, this cozy taco restaurant at 246 W 4th St serves up an honest-to-goodness menu that tantalizes the senses with every bite.
The cuisine here is a love letter to traditional Mexican flavors, elevated by fresh ingredients and bold seasoning. Standouts like the Carne Asada Taco and the Spicy Pork Taco boast tender, juicy meat kissed by just the right amount of spice, delivering a perfect dance of smoky, savory, and hot flavors. If you’re after something a little heartier, the Camarones Burrito Platter offers a succulent shrimp indulgence wrapped in a warm tortilla, complemented by vibrant sides.
Vegetarians aren’t left out either; the Super Vegetables Quesadilla is a wonderful garden of textures and tastes, packed with fresh, crisp produce and melted cheese that creates a delightful, satisfying bite. For those who crave variety and personalization, the burrito bowls—like the Tinga Burrito Bowl with spicy chicken or the Pescado Burrito Bowl featuring crispy fried fish—can be customized with a raft of extras including guacamole, cheese, and various meats.
The dining atmosphere at The Little Taco House is charmingly informal and intimate, capturing the bustling spirit of West Village street fare. While there’s no formal indoor seating, a tiny countertop and a small space outside invite you to soak in the neighborhood vibe, savor your tacos fresh and straight from the kitchen. The staff add to the warm, welcoming feel with genuine friendliness and attentiveness, making every visit feel like an authentic local discovery.
Customers rave about the flavorful fare and reasonable prices. Salahuddin Hossain shared, “This little taco house was a great vibe. The food was excellent and well worth the price. The staff are really friendly. Overall a great experience.” Meanwhile, Mike Lopez expressed his enthusiasm for the Carne Asada Nachos and Carne Asada Torta, calling the spot “a gem in West Village.” Even with some minor mixed feedback on the guacamole or fish tacos, patrons agree the overall quality and flavor shine through.
Craving something refreshing? Pair your taco feast with a classic can soda or try a Jarritos for an authentic Mexican soda experience. With prices that won’t break the bank—burrito bowls coming in at just under $12 and sodas starting at $2.50—The Little Taco House promises an irresistible, flavorful escape in a bustling city that never stops moving.
For anyone seeking genuine, crave-worthy Mexican street food in a no-fuss, friendly setting, The Little Taco House is a must-visit. Whether it’s a quick lunch or a casual dinner, each bite feels like a vibrant celebration of Mexico’s rich culinary heritage, right in the heart of New York.
This little taco house was a great vibe. The food was excellent and well worth the price. The staff are really friendly. Overall a great experience
Really good quesadillas (got spicy pork). Didn’t really like the guac, it was watery, but the rest of the food made up for it. Asked for a spicy sauce which was delicious (it was red for reference). My partner got the fish tacos which weren’t that good sadly. No seating inside but they have a tiny counter if you want to stand and eat.
No shade to Edith’s next door but this place is just the best, burritos and tacos are so delicious. Lowkey hope it stays hidden so all the tiktokers next door will leave it alone, hehe
Small taco house but taste good. I passed by chance and it’s afternoon. Start with beef taco first and taste good so decide to have burrito bowl to complete my meal. They have small seating space in front of the shop that you can sit to enjoy your meal. Credit card accepted. Enjoy
WOW! This place has amazing tasting food. We had the Carne Asade Nachos and Carne Asada Torta. Go to this gem in West Village 4th and Charles Street.
